The annual sports meet of Rabindranath World School, Gurugram was held on 09th December, 2018 at Tau Devi Lal Stadium in a frolic atmosphere. The event was marked by a string of spectacular performances presented by the students with great enthusiasm and sportsmanship. The renowned boxer, Mr. Vijender Singh graced the ceremony with his esteemed presence. Sports TV presenter Mr. Patrick Kinghorn, Air Cmde Ajay Grover, Air Cmde Rippon Gupta were the Guests of Honour and made the event special by their benign presence. The programme commenced with the lighting of torch followed by the melodious school song. The Chief Guest Mr. Vijender Singh declared the Sports Meet open and released the balloons symbolising the vibrant hopes of students. The students displayed a wide array of colourful and reverberant performance such as Pyramid, Saree Drill, Fusion Drill, Aerobics etc. They mesmerised the audience with their energetic performances. The sports meet also witnessed a plethora of track events in which the contestants involved themselves in the true spirit of sportsmanship. The Chief Guest, Mr. Vijender Singh addressed the gathering and motivated the budding athletes and reminded them to have a healthy competition and urged them to give their 100% in all activities. He also emphasised the importance of physical activity and nutritious diet for young children. He requested parents not to force their children to pursue a particular career. He encouraged students to select their career as per their aptitude and interest. He gave away the prizes and certificates to the winners. The event culminated with the vote of thanks proposed by the Principal, Mrs. Manisha Singh, leaving thrilling memories and cherished moments in the hearts of each and every one present there.
